The Art of Darkness

They Might be Badass

I’m a little fuzzy on who Count Tarakan (The Bad Ass Russian) is, but it’s clear that he likes to punch things. His cover of “Istanbul (Not Constantinople)” is glorious in its sheer, unbridled weirdosity.

I still say “not Constantinople” every time someone says Istanbul. And I’m often surprised just how often Istanbul comes up in conversations.

Burning Prairie- I love the internet, because it lets me know I am not the only one who does things like that. People always look at me like I’ve grown an extra head.’

As for the Bad Ass Russian, the dramatic arm movements were killing me.

This has left me speechless. Not because I have no words but because I have too many!!! The pirates! The hook! The fur! The monsters! The pirates! The fu manchu! The pirate bar! The pirates! The assisted Russian danceā€¦

But I shall leave you with this. Count Tarakan has a brother. And he is dastardly.

Did you catch the guy dressed as David Bowie aka Goblin King at the back of the bar? 1:56 point of the film or so. ;)

  6. pensive Says:

    Ghoul Friday-

I was eyeballing ALL of the bar patrons. Loved that bit. The baseball player, etc… For a moment I was waiting for Obi Wan.

The baseball player was a gang member of the Furies from the movie The Warriors.
    This is full of win!

Urka, he’s too much man for one woman. We share him with the ice princeses…..
