There are also many DIY tutorials available, so if you&#8217;ve got a book that you&#8217;ve loved to death you can turn the pages into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capitolromance.com\/2011\/12\/21\/diy-tutorial-paper-roses-from-books-or-sheet-music\/\">flowers<\/a> and convert the cover into an attractive purse.<\/p>\n<p>There are some nice, easy-to-follow tutorials at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.instructables.com\/id\/How-to-make-a-purseclutch-from-a-Book\/?ALLSTEPS\">Instructables<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/rookiemag.com\/2012\/03\/its-a-book-its-a-bag\/\">Rookie<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.countryliving.com\/crafts\/projects\/book-bag-craft-1109#slide-1\">Country Living<\/a>, and Craftser has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.craftster.org\/blog\/bibliocrafting-bags-from-books\/#axzz2XFYTq1XF\">roundup<\/a> of various purses that its members have made.  The estimable EPBOT also has an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epbot.com\/2011\/06\/jen-yates-and-quest-for-worlds-best.html\">exhaustive post<\/a> on her quest for &#8220;the world&#8217;s best book purse,&#8221; which includes several helpful tips.<\/p>\n<p>If a handbag isn&#8217;t really your thing, you can make a clutch instead: <a href=\"http:\/\/seekatesew.com\/buy-diy-zipper-book-clutch-tutorial-gift-kits\/\">See Kate Sew<\/a> has good directions for a zippered version, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abeautifulmess.com\/2015\/01\/turn-an-old-book-into-a-new-purse.html\">A Beautiful Mess<\/a> has one with a snap closure.  There&#8217;s also an interesting project at <a href=\"http:\/\/runwaydiy.com\/2012\/02\/02\/diy-book-clutch\/\">Runway DIY<\/a> which involves hollowing out a space in the pages (as for a &#8220;secret stash&#8221; book) instead of removing them entirely.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve finished the purse, complete the ensemble with a wallet made from a paperback book cover.
