{"id":201,"date":"2007-10-11T08:42:41","date_gmt":"2007-10-11T12:42:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shadowmanor.com\/blog\/?p=201"},"modified":"2008-05-01T19:51:41","modified_gmt":"2008-05-01T23:51:41","slug":"the-wurst-gallery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shadowmanor.com\/blog\/?p=201","title":{"rendered":"The Wurst Gallery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src='http:\/\/www.shadowmanor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/wurst.jpg' class='contentimg';' alt='Anatomical Nesting Dolls' \/>The Wurst Gallery is an online showcase designed to expose artists to a much wider community than they would otherwise enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>Each section of the gallery has a theme&#8211;artists being asked to decorate nesting dolls, for instance&#8211;and I particularly like their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewurstgallery.com\/vintage_vandals.html\">Vintage Vandals<\/a> theme: Each artist was instructed to find artwork at a thrift store and use it as a base for their own work.  Strange beings loom above mundane landscapes and monsters invade still lifes.  Mouse over each image to see the artist&#8217;s alterations.<\/p>\n<p>I think it goes without saying that this is an idea just begging to be exploited.
