The thumbnails from Flickr are used to generate five complementary colors.  It&#8217;s surprising how well it works.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.colourlovers.com\/\">COLOURLovers<\/a> is a design community where users upload palettes and patterns.  You can search on terms like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colourlovers.com\/palettes\/search?hsv=&#038;sortType=ts&#038;sortBy=desc&#038;query=gothic&#038;hex=&#038;lover=&#038;hueOption0=&#038;hueOption1=&#038;hueOption2=&#038;x=0&#038;y=0\">Gothic<\/a>, but they also feature &#8220;best of&#8221; sets like their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colourlovers.com\/blog\/2007\/10\/22\/color-inspiration-from-the-history-of-halloween\/\">Color Inspiration from the History of Halloween<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Both sites are great jumping-off points for finding the perfect color combination.<\/p>\n<p>(Bonus: Here&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/presurfer.blogspot.com\/2008\/03\/hex-silliness.html\">silly hex code trick<\/a>.
