Martha Stewart recently posted a recipe for &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.marthastewart.com\/recipe\/invisible-pops?lnc=c4338f416b86b110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD\">invisible lollipops<\/a>&#8221; made of uncaramelized sugar syrup, and Forkable decided to turn the same recipe into clear &#8220;glass&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/forkableblog.com\/?p=908\">specimen slides<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The inspiration was the Showtime series <i>Dexter<\/i>, whose serial-killer hero saves droplets of blood from all of his victims, but these would be wonderful for any kind of mad scientist- or biohazard themed party.  Make yellowy-green splotches and claim they&#8217;re blood samples from zombies, or use reddish-purple for extraterrestrial Blob specimens.<\/p>\n<p>The blogger had trouble finding a wooden slide box, but they seem to be available fairly cheaply <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carolina.com\/product\/life+science\/microscope+slides\/containers+and+cabinets\/slide+box%2C+holds+25+slides.do?sortby=ourPicks\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/secure.sciencecompany.com\/Wooden-Microscope-Slide-Storage-Box-for-25-slides-P16334C0.aspx?UserID=4756335\">here<\/a>, or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crscientific.com\/slideboxes.html\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m quite impressed with how realistic these look.
