Garbage Scout is built on the principle that free is even better than cheap: It&#8217;s a series of interactive Google Maps for several major cities, and trash hounds list the location of interesting items that are being thrown away.<P>There doesn&#8217;t seem to be a comprehensive city list (the main Garbage Scout domain doesn&#8217;t resolve to anything), but a bit of internet sleuthing should tell you whether your city is listed.
