The Art of Darkness

The Four Link Dumps of the Apocalypse

May 13th, 2016 by Cobwebs

The Horror of Blimps – This story has been knocking around the intartubes for years, but it’s funny every time I run across it.

Chocolate Covered Coffee Bean Skulls – These are sort of adorable.

If These Are the Four Houses of America’s Hogwarts, They Are Completely Insane – I like J.K. Rowling, but goddamn is she tone-deaf where cultural appropriation is concerned.

Hoard of Nightmares – A recent commission in Iguanamouth’s ongoing “dragon hoard” series of awesomeness.

15 Fun Facts about Bunnicula – I was unaware that there’s a new animated series based on the book.

Michele Carragher – The blog of the costumer for Game of Thrones. Gorgeous photos, and even some tutorials for things like creating “dragonscale.”

More Vampires Who… – This Tumblr thread amused me vastly.

Beautiful Madness – EPBOT reviews a book subscription box (like Lootcrate for the literary, I guess) which sounds pretty neat.

A Walking Tour of the Shambles – Travelogue of a fictional area of Chicago, written by Neil Gaiman and Gene Wolfe, and illustrated by Gahan Wilson.

My Little Baphomet – Etsy shop full of felted demons and other adorably evil things.

I just finished a project I have been planning on doing for a while. I made a display label for a LeMarchand Lament Cube which I display under a glass watch dome (Like the ones you see in Hell Raiser 2) The display label was actually easier than I thought it would be. Now I have to figure how to attach the 4×6 photo to the inside of the dome without any visible adheasives

I have been concidering subscribing to Lootcrate. Is it worth it?

How about these for House names (still with Indian references) Feather Snake, Thunder Bird, White Buffalo and Fox Paw. The Fox Paw house is where all the socially inept and those who tend to accidentally say the wrong thing are sorted to.

The blimp story reminds me of Damn Cheap Monkeys.

Still laughing over the blimp story…

was looking at the Beautiful Madness crate (because a couple of the people I work with at the bookstore are obsessed with these sorts of crate subscription things, and there was a link in the comments for a rather cool site which had “evil stationery” items. also had a crate service, as well.
