The Link Dumps of Wrath
New Bat Species Discovered – This pretty little bat has its own genus.
Collectable Hieronymus Bosch Figurines – Resin sculptures of details from various Bosch paintings. I…got nothin’. (Hat tip to Pixel Pixie)
The Dark Birds – Grim, fairytale-like short story by Ursula Vernon.
Sea Monster Moppe – Thrifted Ikea dresser gorgeously made over with vintage sea monster art and a woodburning tool.
Insect Embroideries – Lovely hand-embroidered beetles, bees, and other small critters.
Cuddling Bats – Cute photo of a pile of bats. “Scrunchy spelunkys” is my new favorite description of such a phenomenon.

A few years ago I had an encounter with a bat. At the time I lived in a very old building apartment and I had my elbow resting on the window sill while watching TV. Suddenly I felt a tapping on my arm. When I looked down I saw a small (But cute) bat tapping my arm with its thumb and looking alternately at me then the closed window. I carefully moved my arm and the bat continued to look at me then the window as if asking me to open it.
so I did and it flew out. I noted its small nest enterence in the side of the window so I closed the storm window. I called the exterminator who came the next day and found that the type of bat was primarly a docile insectavor and has never found to carry rabies. But they are endangered so he could not remove the nest during breeding season
