The Link Dump That Came to Sarnath

October 27th, 2017 by Cobwebs

Scarecrow – Cute little ‘toon.

My Favorite Spooky Plants – Twitter thread with lots of cool pictures.

Bat Friendly Tequila – Several brands of tequila are going the socially-responsible route by making their growing and harvesting procedures more friendly to the bats which pollinate them. You can read more about the project here.

Manimal Sanctuary – A “lurking simulator” in which you play a monster who consumes human emotions.

TKC Cozy Pawz – Custom pet costumes. The seller isn’t taking more orders until after Halloween, but there are some great photos. The Golden Retrievers dressed as Greek gods make me especially happy.

Hamburger Helper – I accept this anatomy as headcanon. (Hat tip to Pixel Pixie)

The Legend of the Scarecrow – Touching little animated short. (via Shellhawk)

Brave Chef Brianna – Kid’s book about a young woman who sets up a restaurant in a city full of monsters.

Iguanamouth – Odd, evocative little ‘toon.

MonsterTalk – Podcast which “critically examines the science behind cryptozoological (and legendary) creatures.” (Hat tip to Pixel Pixie)

That manimal sanctuary game sounds like so much fun. I really like stuff like that.

I also enjoyed the link to spooky plants. I would have thought they were film props if I’d found them elsewhere on the web, especially the Hydnellum peckii.

And Happy Halloween if you don’t post again before the 31st!

I actually got an award certificate
once for raising a young venus flytrap to maturity and getting it to flower which if you ever had one you will know how hard they are to keep alive. I found the best way is to stick it in a jar, put it in a sunny window and water it once every 3 weeks and most importantly DO NOT PLAY WITH IT. IE feed it flys etc
