The Link Dump Who Loved Me

A House Awaiting Death – An elderly loner expects to die in the next 15 years and commissioned a house designed to reflect that. Lots of symbolism, such as the avoidance of sunsets.

Fuck Yeah, Victorians! – Photoblog that really, really likes Victoriana.

Purebred – Photography portfolio of surreal imagery.

Monstrous Discrepancies – Perception vs. reality…with monsters!

The 7 Most Horrifying Museums on Earth – A roundup.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal – I’m totally going to do this.

Skeletor Belt – I don’t have $3,700 to blow on a belt, but I sure wish I did.

Surrealien – German company works with you to “warp” your wallpaper around room fixtures. I suppose you could do the same thing with a permanent marker and a lot of free time.

I love the way the folks at Cracked.com write:

a huge open grave with floodlights

Now that is a concept that will haunt me the rest of the day. But the comics were the best of this line up. Perception v. Reality. Something we should probably all keep in mind.

I think the most disturbing thing was not the mummies… well, the baby mummies were freaky… but the ventriloquist dummies. Nightmares, seriously, nightmares.

SMBC had me. I attend a Quaker Meeting that is largely populated by elderly folk, and let me tell you: Quakers, while endearingly earnest, are a bunch of lovely loonies. There’s at least 4 or 5 of our sweetest, oldest members who would totally do that ;)
