For Those of Us with Baby Bats

Ragnar’s Got Your Nose is a tale of two brothers; the evil brother steals the good one’s nose and then subjects it to all manner of torture. The illustrations are very Ren-and-Stimpy.

The Skull Project

July 27th, 2007 by Cobwebs

Skull Project BookIn 2003, tattoo artist and painter Matthew Amey put together The Skull Reference, 151 drawings of a human skull done from every possible angle. Amey recently gave copies of that book to 150 artists in 18 countries, assigned them an “angle,” and invited them to re-interpret that image. The result is a new book called The Skull Project.

The Anticraft

July 24th, 2007 by Cobwebs

Skeleton PurseThis site is marvelous inspiration for all sorts of craftiness. From their “antifesto:”

We were deep in the clutches of a weeklong absinthe binge when the Divine Hand of Brilliance touched us in an inappropriate place. When this vision came, we knew we must create a haven for all the sinister crafters of the world. No more would we be cowed into silence by cheerful scrapbook stickers. Never again would we be forced to gleefully execute a sweater of intarsia puppies.

Their archives contain lots of crafts in many different media, along with suggested skill levels so you can find the darkness that suits you best.
