re: Fashion icons: OMEGs, yes!!! I have difficulty describing Steampunk to folks who ask about it and I usually end up with “Goth, but instead of black and silver, it’s brown and brass.” Sometimes I have to add, “with less blood”.

Just read Rotters. Brain is totally fried. Superbly well-written and without a doubt the most bizarre teen novel I’ve ever read, and I read a LOT of YA fiction. I cannot wrap my head around it. In case you wonder, this is high praise. Terrific writing, new ideas… it takes a while to integrate something this large.
