The Art of Darkness

Link Dumps Are Forever

Embroidered X-rays – Interesting and mildly unsettling artwork by Matthew Cox.

Steampunk Disney – Disney heroines with steampunky accents. (Hat tip to Alejna)

The Helpers – Edible “horror installation” done for a movie promotion. Dismembered bodies made of cake. Yum!

Strange Tableware – Plates and bowls that incorporate uncomfortably lifelike fingers, mouths, and other human bits. It’d be fun to bring the “mouth” bowls to the table filled with soup and have your guests discover the surprise at the bottom. (Hat tip to Sisifo)

The Spider Who Couldn’t Hide – One of those cute sand spiders trying to bury itself, with an appropriate voiceover.

Sinister Vanity – Etsy shop with all kinds of pretty, dark jewelry. (Hat tip to Cat)

Moon Phase Tights – Fairly easy tutorial for DIY tights which display the phases of the moon.

Bargain Bin Blasphemy – Pop album covers “upgraded” to black metal. I think Satan and Garfunkel is my favorite.

The Zombie Tarot – Yes, zombies are overdone, but the artwork on these are fantastically vintage-y. You can see a bunch of the cards here. (Hat tip to pdq)

Katie Alves – Makeup artist who specializes in amazingly detailed eye effects. I love her Trick or Treat Eyes.

Bargain Bin Blasphemy is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever seen!

That picture of Stevie Nicks on “Grim Rumours” sent me over the edge.

Those embroideries are pretty cool looking, although my spidey sense is tingling and the stitches look too big to be actually embroidered…

Also, heart those steampunk Disney princesses (and the Calvin-and-Hobbes-style Serenity characters on the same site).

    Is that an edible…pizza?! WOW!

    AHAHAHAHAHA! The voice over!

Fleetwööd Mac. I love it. (Also: Hail the Darkness, my old friend.)

Inasmuch as I already think makeup is generally a waste of time, that seems like an awful lot of effort to put into something no one’s ever going to see except for an instant (because, I believe, one takes ones makeup off before sleeping, yes?)

So many great links in one place! I knew I liked you.
P.S. I’m still weirded out by a bowl I could makeout with. *shivers*

Moon Phase Tights – shouldn’t the full moon phase be located on her… ?
