The Art of Darkness

Duck! It’s Another Week of Link Dumps

March 23rd, 2015 by Cobwebs

You guys should all know the drill by now. I’ve got too many links in my Drafts folder. Time to drop ’em all on your collective heads.

The Coolest Tattoo Artists in the World – There’s some really amazing work here.

The 10 Best Horror Books You’ve Never Read – Roundup of interesting-sounding lesser gems of horror.

Pop Stars Gone Metal – Some great concept T-shirt designs (sadly not for sale), recasting mainstream artists as metal bands. There are a couple more here. (via Spooky Moon)

Goth Icons Then and Now – Photos of various “classic” goth icons in their heyday and today.

H.P. Lovecat – “Because there exists no method known to man, more terribly suited to expose the cosmic meaningless of existence than pairing the words of H.P. Lovecraft with seemingly delightful and charming pictures of adorable kittens.”

Russian Fairy Tales – Artist Uldus Bakhtiozina takes photos of vignettes based on Russian fairy tales. Some of these would be amazing cosplay ideas.

The Halloween Oracle – Gorgeous set of Halloween-themed divination cards. (via Spooky Moon)

Knitrocious – Etsy shop specializing in disturbing knitwear, like the terrifying clown balaclava.

Inside the World of Longsword Fighting – I sort of love that longsword fighting is becoming a popular sport.

Nihilist Arby’s – Arby’s is a U.S. fast-food chain (although they also have locations in Canada, Turkey, and Qatar; the hell?), but this amusing Twitter feed could just as easily apply to the fast-food restaurant of your choice.

Those are really cool works of art, but few of them are things I’d like to live with on my skin forever. (Dat tree doe.)

    Nickelback <3!

How much do I love Manson? So much. Wtf was that photo, though??

I grew up reading Leo Tolstoy’s Fables and Fairytales (yes, that was the entire, pretentious, title) so I'm kinda familiar with some of these stories, but I wish I had links to them to reread with the new illustrations. Also, I will henceforth imagine Ivan (and the one nobleman who killed his faithful falcon) as wondering around vaguely in a Siberian wasteland wrapped in a Turkish rug.

These are seriously the best things for skiing because you can identify your crew from far away.

Arby's is also a frequent punching bag on the Daily Show and I wonder if this wasn’t grabbed directly from there…

I have read three of the horror books on that list. Light at the End is pretty trashy, though I suppose if you’re looking for something that sums up that era in horror, it’s a good choice!

Ah, Carl McCoy. At least one thing I loved in my yoof hasn’t changed…

Arby’s is the only fast food chain I actually like, so nihilist Arby’s is especially wonderful to me.

The rabbit tattoo part way down the page is pretty much exactly what I’ve been wanting for ages.
Holy hell some people are talented.
