Ann Arbor’s Fairy Doors – Ann Arbor, MI is home to a collection of fairy doors.

Light + Paper – Site which sells intricate, delicate paper cutouts, many in the shape of human organs.

LirikasByLirika – Etsy shop specializing in tights, gloves, and other accessories embellished with jewels and applique patches. Dark Forest and Wild Cherries are particularly appealing.

British Retro – Reproduction vintage clothing with fantastic style.

The Scariest Animal That Will Never Hurt You – Yay, whipscorpions! I especially like the photo of the mother carrying around its young. (Hat tip to DeVries)

Our Talons Can Crush Galaxies – Nebula Award Finalist Brooke Bolander’s short story is available online for free.

Useless Creatures (and Why They Matter) – Screwworm flies and cuttlefish are just as worthy of saving as polar bears.

Pet Flytrap – Sells a variety of carnivorous plants (including rare and unusual cultivars), terrarium kits, and supplies. Their sampler pack is a nice way to get started.

Animatronic Cat Ears – Instructions for making moveable cat ears. The same idea could easily be used for horns, antennae, or tentacles.

Fantasy Novel Title Generator – Stumped for a title for that big, fat, derivative fantasy novel you just extruded? Have no fear! This generator pumps out surprisingly plausible titles.

Oh, yes, those Dark Forest tights are beautiful!

I wonder how large the average whipscorpion is. I have to admit that if they are very large at all, and I ran face first into one unexpectedly, that my OMFG reaction would activate big time.

  3. Devries Says:

Some of the whips I have seen on nature shows are quite big. One On Man vs nature Bare had to eat one that was almost as big as his palm.
