The Art of Darkness

Expose Yourself

September 7th, 2010 by Cobwebs

Instead of a regular post today I thought I’d try something a little different and let the readers take over.

Tell us about yourself in the comments–plug your blog or your business, or just introduce yourself.

I know you guys are out there; I can hear your virtual breathing. Come out of the woodwork and say hello!

I’m an Australian girl who works as a beer wench and sells corsets and bustiers online and (soon) at markets.
I study archaeology, have three cats, two rats and a fiance.
I collect tea cups and love archery and sewing.
I’m uncoordinated as hell most of the time but, for some reason, I’m really good at ice skating.

I guess I’m an eclectic blend of hippie, goth and punk, with a whole lot of me just thrown in there. I’m a lazy slob who still keeps the house pretty clean. I break, sprain or regularly burn myself, on accident. I Love reading, mostly paranormal romance, but love sci-fi, and alternate history and classics as well. I’m a mom of two, one boy, aka spawn, and one girl, aka heathen. I’m also an army wife, who occasionally can’t stand her husband, but he’s ok with that. I love painting, mainly skull masks and zombies, still trying to figure out how to paint something living without making it look silly, but that’s a work in progress. I also make fimo clay monsters. I love monty python, Tank Girl (favorite favorite movie) and cry baby (silly musical), with a younger hotter johnny depp, and of course Fido(awesome zombie flick). I’m a big fan of all tim burton movies, and I LOVE batman. Ummm, I also have a hot pink mo hawk and snakebites and a few tattoos, but only one you can see with clothes on. lol. anyways. I think that about sums me up. I’m hoping to start my own blog soon, but that whole lazy thing keeps getting in the way.

I’m an atheist/pagan who’s currently doing time in law school. I don’t self-identify as goth, but I love spiders and think that mainstream is boring. I steampunk when I get the chance, which is not that often. I love corsets and fake corsets and skiing (which doesn’t pertain, but hey). I like sewing but don’t do a whole lot of it, unfortunately. I like the concept of the mask or the costume, where you can be someone else in a socially acceptable way. I feel that, in my chosen line of work, I’m forced into a fake ideal of “normal” and I try to find ways to subvert that. I have a blog, but I don’t post that often anymore (mostly, I tweet). I love tea to the point of obsession and fountain pens and Apple products only slightly less.

Hii! I am a 23 year old college student… working my way through Anatomy and Psychology courses. nursing is my calling. I have 2 black cats and a weenie dog named Oscar. tattoos and piercings are a huge part of who I am, and I am constantly planning my next body work. my adhd won’t let me sit through most movies, but Tim Burton captured my heart when I was young… that really about sums me up.

I’m a part-time waitress and I also work at Spencers Gifts, selling funny t-shirts and sex toys to the masses. I also love to write, read, and watch anything macabre. Halloween is my Christmas and if I was able to, I’d decorate my entire house to celebrate it every day of the year.

*MuHAHAHAHaaahhaaaa!* Now that I have you all in my evil clutches… I just like teh offbeat. Was directed to this site about a year ago when the mummified fairies showed up & have simply been in lust ever since. Long may you reign as Queen O’ Halloween.

I live in Memphis and work in California, thanks to The Wonderful World of Computers . I won’t go any farther than that, though — don’t have a cell phone or any other electronic devices and often amuse myself thinking up interesting ways to kill people who do. You all sound like delightful people, and I would like to see your homes. But don’t invite me; I never leave Midtown Memphis if I can help it.

Hi there…I’m a fellow lover of all-things-macabre. I live in NY, work in integrative medicine, and am about to start grad school for Neurosomatic Studies (the science of the mind-body connection). In my spare time I’m compulsively crafty, and scour the web for oddities to post on http://www.SheWalksSoftly.com. Love your site…keep it up!

I’m about as vanilla as they come, really. Married, two kids, house in the ‘burbs, etc.

But I do occasionally do something creative. Lately, most of those efforts can be seen here:

Thanks for the opportunity to self-promote, and also for the fun blog!

I’m a teen-aged Canadian artist. I’m a great lover of alternative fashions (goth not the least of these), and all things spooky, whimsical, and antique. I recently started an Etsy business selling jewellery, and a blog.

I’ve been reading your blog for ages, and still love it as much as I did when I discovered it. =)
